Mimi Mondal is a Dalit writer from India whose first American publication was also the first story of Artemis Rising 1, in February 2015. Mimi is a 2015 graduate of Clarion West, with works published or forthcoming in Tor.com, Fireside Fiction, Uncanny Magazine, Words Without Borders, and several publications in India. Her first anthology, Luminescent Threads: Connections to Octavia Butler, co-edited with Alexandra Pierce, was published by Twelfth Planet Press in 2017.
