PodCastle to Debut on April Fool’s Day

Things are Officially Getting Rolling. We’re going to cast the first episode on April 1. An April Fool’s Day joke, you ask? I’ll let you determine that for yourselves.

What proof do I have that this is for real? Well, check out our opening line-up. Barring crises with contracts or reading, behold what you’ll listen to for the first six weeks. Notice that in addition to weekly full-length fiction, we’ll be airing flash every two or three weeks.

EPISODE 1 – April 1: “Come Lady Death” by Peter Beagle
Bonus Flash – April 4: “Stone Born” by Loreen Heneghan
EPISODE 2 – April 8: “For Fear of Dragons” by Carrie Vaughn
EPISODE 3 – April 15: “Run of the Fiery Horse” by Hilary Moon Murphy
Bonus Flash – April 18: “Pahwahke” by Gord Sellar
EPISODE 4 – April 22: “Goosegirl” by Margaret Ronald
EPISODE 5 – April 29: “The Girl with the Sun in Her Head” by Jeremiah Tolbert
Bonus Flash – May 2: “Giant” by Stephanie Burgis
EPISODE 6 – May 6: “The Dead Girl’s Wedding March” by Cat Rambo

Thanks for the update, I was never a huge fan of the fantasy on escape pod, but I did come to miss it after a so many months without it.

Also, why did you decide on April 8? Not the date itself, but since pseudopod comes out on Friday and Escape Pod comes out on Thursday, why Tuesday instead of Wednesday?

Very cool. I was updating my podcasts via iTunes this morning and noticed Pseudopod was having trouble finding a valid URL. I figured this would sort itself out eventually, but it gave me the idea to check up on PodCastle and lo and behold…here it is!

I’m excited for these stories! Can’t wait!

    Cat Rambo?!

Cat Rambo…LOL these pen names are too funny. I should totally submit something and give myself a crazy pen name.

I’m so excited for the new podcast!

Yay! Gives me enough time to get all caught up with Escape and Pseudo pod. I love reading and stopped because of work and the distractions of tv and computer games. Now I’m back to my first addiction, stories, and am reading actual books now too. Maybe my rotting brain still has a chance.

The feed for EscapePod is http://feeds.escapepod.org/EscapePod

The feed for PseudoPod is http://feeds.pseudopod.org/PseudoPod

As for the feed for Podcastle.org, who knows, ultimately? But as for what it *could be* I will leave as an exercise for the reader.

    Hello all,
I just wanted to give those who are waiting for Podcastle, a little to whet your whistle whilst we wait. One of the extras planned was a story : “Skyscrapers” by Rachel Swirsky. This story was extremely heartfelt, and wonderfully written.
If you want to check out the story you can see it on Flash Quake
If you want to see Rachel’s other works visit her website.
She is truly an up and coming writer, and please let her know.
I hope you all will enjoy this story as much as I did.
    Thanks
    T

So when will you post subscription buttons? I’m ready to subscribe, just so I won’t miss anything, although I’m sure Steve will remind us through Escape Pod.

    Still.
